I think the main problem with Cane on point is he is not good at the side to side passing. His passes are lazy sometimes and they get picked and that infuriates Cronin. So all we need to do is run the weave and have Cane do a handoff instead of a pass. It will be easier for us to get in the paint when our guards are on the move.
We are not set up this year for a perimeter passing inside out game. We have to make things happen with our guards on the move. Broome is perfect for that and Jenifer is not, So to get Broome minutes we can play him when Johnson is out there and we can run the weave when we have no true PG on the floor. I like Justin Jenifer a lot. A very good kid and he has paid his Bearcat dues. I am glad he had a great game and the same for Williams. But it was NC Central.
My concern is what Jenifer is going to do against better competition. Is he going to be able to put enough pressure on the defense for the offense to score? Will he make his shots? How is big game Cane compared to big game Justin? Last year Cane outplayed him in big games overall. Is SR year Jenifer going to be that much better than JR year? I can't imagine Cane got any worse other than perhaps the possibility of his confidence being lost. |

This is the best summation of the situation and I agree completely with everything you said here, except I fall on the other side of not trusting him to play the right players.
