Or maybe it just requires better players. We saw the huge jump Mick's offense made when he went to UCLA and got guys who can play offense. Hope Miller can make the same jump moving here.

Yep, it's one thing to understand the importance of the three point shot, and it's another to have a scheme that creates open three point opportunities. Same with shots at the rim. The very low assist rate means not many threes are open catch and shoot attempts, which is probably why their percentage is so bad. The very low foul rate (and shots blocked) means they aren't putting the defense in many compromising positions attacking the rim. Better players will obviously help with some of that, but I'd like to see him hire someone who will modernize the offense.

Unless you have the horses to run the races, teams that like to get up and down going struggle shooting ball. His biggest struggle early on until he win or unless he get well known local assistant going to recruiting tri state. It’s been 30yrs since we had coach that wasn’t local

Does anyone know what happened with Eric Martin? I’m excited about hiring Wes just curious as to why things shifted all of a sudden.

Per the Cincinnati enquirer article, it sounds like UC never contacted him again after his second interview (until the let him know he wasn't selected). Seems like the "contract negotiations" was actually just getting a feel for the numbers if they did go with him. All the other smoke was baseless.
