'11 OH WR Max Morrison (UC Verbal 12/04/10)

Bearcat Lair is reporting that Max Morrison, a WR from Kenton HS (same HS as Ben Mauk) commited to UC on Friday. Morrison was a visitor for the Pitt game yesterday, and recieved an offer on November 26 (day after thanksgiving). Morrison choose UC over Vandy, Air Force and Kent State

Thank God we got him before the Golden Flashes did.

This commit makes no sense to me unless he promised to bring some friends who play defense.

The kid was productive in HS. That said, there have been rumors that Chism might be reconsidering things. I hope not but I wonder if this has something to do with that?

Also, don't forget that guys like Mardy Gilyard weren't highly recruited either. With as many receivers as we had go down this year for various amounts of time and losing 3 receivers to graduation, depth is a concern at WR.

All of the remaining scholarships needed to be used on defense. Maybe he can switch over to DB? Other than that I didn't see the need for another offense commit.

This is a very shortsighted comment. You never just take one side of the ball. You focus on areas of need but you also focus on the best players available. Obviously the coaching staff saw something they liked in this kid. I have no issues with another offensive commitment. They only have 13 verbals right now. There are plenty of scholarships available for defensive players.
