I'm sure he could pull together a "Interdisciplinary Studies" degree in a couple weeks. I like Erik Martin with NVE on staff. And predicate those decisions on "who are your AAU connections and who can you get immediately?"

So if NVE could guarantee 3 top 100 players (Penny has 3 and overall #1) in the 2020 class, would you pull the trigger? [Obviously big "if"]

I would bet on John Brannen from NKU. Easy sell, solid record.

Sounds like a mid-major hire. Recruiting will get worse.

4 years playing division 1 and two tourney appearances. Team scored 400 more points than UC.

Brannen seems like the obvious choice and probably the best one.

Where do you think all coaches start? They all come start at mid majors.

I want a guy who can recruit. John Brannen is not that guy. He is the budget hire that puts us in line with Dayton, Ohio University and Miami of Ohio.

And just because most coaches start at mid-majors doesn't mean we need to hire one.

We are talking about the Horizon league (and I watched plenty of H league games). You know who else scored more than UC? Citadel!

Huge stretch calling NVE a "home run hire". No clue if the dude could even coach the recruits we HOPE he could get. No thanks. I'll say a couple extra Hale Mary's and do a couple extra good deeds in exchange for selling my soul to Rick Pitino....and I feel dirty saying it.
