That said, osu lost just about everyone of their recruits from the 2015 class who transferred out, and with Matta's health, who knows who the coach might be in 2018 or 2019. He's under some silent heat in Cbus.
Agreed! There are many reasons why kids chose schools. Handlers, apparel affiliation, money, Playing time, style, how many we have in the league and others. As I have said the recruiting game has changed considerably in the last 10 years or so. All the things I mentioned and more are factors. Its why I have such respect for the job Mick has done. I really can see it both ways. I understand longtime passionate fans who long for the good old days and want them back and I can see how Mick has survived on coaching skill and player development to get us to this point. A very difficult task. The question is with P5 affiliation and upgraded facilities can he get us back to the good old days. With the level of competition he will be facing in the new conference what will be the expectation then. The competition will be much tougher.

DSqaure nailed it. Hopefully he wants to stay in the city now.

I went to the same high school Darius goes to, and my buddy that still has connections there says UK is hitting Darius up now, so that could be a big reason for this. Guess he originally wanted Syracuse. Not sure what happened there.

Regardless, I think this one would be tough.

If UK is hitting him up, we don't have a chance. If you think you are going pro, you have to go to UK. They have 4-5 1st rounders every year

They do pay well! They also have a lot of salary cap room with players leaving.

That's really surprising. I watched a few of his games this year and was not impressed. High upside but not a Kentucky caliber talent

I hear a lot from other bloggers that he is a little overrated and overall don't come away too impressed. I don't know because all I see are highlight tapes and I'm not blown away when I watch them. I think I would rather had Nassir little.

Not sure what truth there is to the UK thing, but X offered him this week.

He was honest about decommitting though. He basically said OSU didn't make the tournament last year, and their recruiting class didn't look very good. I would say he realized he was just going into a bad situation.
