I for one hope he signs. He would be a very good pick up.

Just being honest, until this coaching staff shows they have developed a few players (maybe it'll show this year) I will be worried about any recruit labeled more as a "project".

BRAEDEN ANDERSON PLANS TWO OFFICIAL VISTS; NEARING DECISION
November 4, 2010 by NBE Blogger · Leave a Comment The early signing period for college basketball and the recruiting Class of 2011 is quickly approaching in less than one week. One of the better prospects still available in the class is 6-foot-8, 230-lb forward Braeden Anderson of Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Wilbraham (MA). The native Canadian who plays on the AAU circuit with Ro Russell’s Grassroots Canada program has scheduled two official visits as he works through the recruiting process, hoping to make a decision this month. “I am visiting DePaul this weekend,” Anderson told NBE last night, “and Temple next week.” Connecticut, who he visited unofficially at the end of September, Cincinnati and Hawaii are also being considered as Anderson told NBE just last week he is looking to decide on a college in the near future. “Next month (November), if possible,” Anderson said on when he hoped to decide and sign. A week ago Anderson did not even mention Oliver Purnell’s squad to NBE when we touched based with him on the recruiting process. Now the late entry into the process has made a strong impression on Anderson and he is very much looking forward to the upcoming visit. “I am looking forward to meeting the head coach in person and hanging out with the team,” said Anderson last night. “Seeing the campus, the arena, etc. [It] should be a great weekend.” Anderson had an impressive winter last season for Christian Faith Academy in North Carolina and began receiving more attention in the recruiting world. NBE got the chance to see Anderson and his teammates in action in the National Christian Academy Classic last February. NBE could see why the recruiting interest in Anderson was building rapidly as he ran the floor very well and has great athleticism and mobility for his position and size. He can handle the ball and passed well. Anderson showed a nice face-up game, which is one of the assets he is most known for in recruiting circles, and can go to the basket when the opportunity arises. NBE also saw a better performance this summer in Las Vegas with the Grassroots Canada AAU program, so the potential is certainly there for Anderson to be a productive Division 1-A performer. Could that production be brought to the Big East in the future? It is an option that is certainly intriguing to Anderson as he readies for his official visits to begin. “I know DePaul started recruiting me late, but they’re doing all the right things and it’s looking like a near perfect situation,” Anderson said. NBE will monitor the situation closely as Class of 2011 forward Braeden Anderson nears his decision. |
