Xavier

Johnny brannen vs Travy steele

I don’t believe mick ever won at Xavier, would be a monumental win for Johnny if we could pull this off

It would be big.

This years Xavier team reminds me a lot of micks teams. Long, athletic, great defensively. Can’t shoot. They will allow teams to hang around and stay in the game.

I wish we had Sorolla for this game.

We need another big.

Tyrique Jones and freemantle could manhandle Us in the paint.

And Jason carter is their X-factor.

Kyky Tandy is their best shooter, playing his 2nd Gabe Back today

Jarron has to get healthy, Jaevin and Keith need to stay hot.

I think X will do everything they can to get Vogt in foul trouble because without him X will bully UC in the paint. I have absolutely no trust in Diarra.

UC has to get it going early, they cannot go into Cintas and turn the ball over the first 3 possessions.

Annnnnnnd we all know how bad X is at shooting 3's but we all know they will shoot 65% against us.

Vogt getting in foul trouble is a huge concern.... As well as turnovers.

Vogt and Nysier would be awesome. Still pisses me off that he made the wrong decision to leave.

Yeah Sorolla is the first thought I had about this game too. Diarra is unplayable. Vogt is going to have fouls called on him this game. It's a scary situation.

looking at our defense numbers so far this year compared to last year and we're looking pretty good. although offense in general seems way down from looking at these numbers.

We are better in 2P% defense (41.2% vs 45.1%), 3P% defense (33.2% vs 35.5%), and we give up less offensive rebounds (26.2% vs 29.3%). eFG% is at 44.3% this year compared to 48.6% last year.

45.1% was 20th best last year though and 41.2% is 23rd this year.

We don't force as many turnovers, last year was a very nice 20.9 TO% for opponents and this year its down to 19.3%.

Opponent FTRate is also down at 28.1% compared to 30.5% last year however both rank 113 in the country.

Interesting to see 2 point shooting % down this year across ncaa. I guess I would expect it to be up with the 3 point line moved back and more room to drive to the rim.

I know Brannen is a man to man guy.

But they have too many dudes we don’t have answers fo.

The zone may need to be brought out. It’s a great strategy against X

im joking but not really joking when i saw play the high school 5 in the paint zone vs them.

maybe we'll just play man, allow penetration like usual, and "bait" them into taking 3's. they fired up 25 of them last year despite not being able to make them, we could use another 25 from them this year.
