Name how many African natives Mick has had 4 years to work with? Thomas, no. Mbodj, no. Big Dave, no. When a player is raw to begin with and only has 2 years compared to 4, the difference is huge........

He had 30 points and 25 rebounds in a game in January and averaged a double double in the Reebok Showdown Series against decent competition. He plays hard and will rebound. It is apparent the current roster is not what Mick wants it to be and that there will be movement coming in some shape form or fashion.

Fair point, but I'm still not going to get excited over it. Thomas had three years at UC (two playing, one practicing) and two at OSU. That should be enough time to develop.

A couple of WVU fans that I know were saying that Nyarsuk could be like Gorgui Dieng. Unfortunately for foreign big man it is usually really tough to guage how they will develop.

I agree, but do think Dave could've been a good player had he had 4 years.

Nice find, glad Mick is going after people who don't wanna drag out the process. Hope he becomes a Bearcat, he is raw, but he has great athletic ability, plays hard, looks like he has more basketball iq than Gaines, and we can have him for 4 years, unlike Cheikh, Ibrahima, Big Dave, etc.

From Rivals: Sidy Djitte: A thin, 6-foot-10 post man from Fayetteville (N.C.) Northwood Temple, Djitte is raw and needs plenty of seasoning. But there's a dearth of available big men and there are some high-major coaches out there who feel like they can turn him into a serviceable big man with a couple of years in the weight room and development. He plays hard, can block shots and has plenty of room to build on his body.

How many times have we heard this? I'd rather stick with the roster we have and pick up a more ready big man in 2014.

I partially agree, other than you'd have 4 years to develop him. Plus, he sounds a little more ahead of some of the African players we've had so far.
