I am pretty sure M. Diarra was the recruit that was playing barefoot / outside with netless rims with no real coaching just like two and a half years ago. I would expect slow going at first but he could contribute after mid season--- also he is two tears older than T. Moore as is Nsoseme and that may be part of the reason not to redshirt.

Plus, he was pressuring the ball from 50 ft from the basket and his footwork wasn't all that bad!

Anyone else have any thoughts on his play yesterday?
He's about 10 times more productive than I thought he would be when we signed him. I actually don't think he's been too bad near the rim with his left hand. I don't think he should be putting the ball on the ground more than once if ever.

He can really get after it everywhere else. I'm so glad we got him.

cincycpaw will become famous soon enough
Was watching the replay of this game. I haven’t been a Jenifer fan, but he sure looked the part. I fear he disappears when the competition level rises though. But this is going to be another fun year!

This is absolutely insane thing to say.

Don’t think insiders nor the coaching staff would agree at all with this statement. He is our skilled replacement at the 4. No big on the team nearly as skilled as him.

I remember times when we had to use Bishop as a backup PG or even Guyn as a starter. I'm not complaining.

I think that was Ellie who just started playing. Diara looks a little soft and unsure. He probably could have benefited like Scott did from red shirt but if he's older I get it. Ellie does not play soft by any means... he's an animal out there.

you are mistaking perceived potential vs actual ability. he will not play this season at all. there is a reason for that. ill just leave it at that.

I think Diarra has played a total of maybe 10 minutes across the scrimmage, exhibitions and real game. So unless you are the greatest scout on earth I do not see how you can say this.

Yes, he probably won't play a lot this year. It's not because he isn't a D1 player but more so because he hasn't been playing organized basketball for that long. He looks "lost" out there because he needs time to understand the flow of games. He has the talent and has the potential, the staff will groom him into a starter.

It was Ellie playing on pavement barefoot. There is video on his page.

I was mistaken on Diarra/Nsoseme easy to confuse the two. In Diarra's first two years in the states he missed playing almost a whole year because of broken bones in both hands and a knee injury- torn mcl. This time I'm sure,I went back and checked.
