Seriously, why do UL/UC/Rutgers/UConn and the rest need Depaul/Seton Hall/St Johns/GTown/Nova/Marquette etc?

The revenue is in football not bball. Conference re-alignment is all about football
The brand. Like Ralph said, too much money to be made as the Big East. There is no need to split at this point. The league is as stable as it'll get for the time being.

Well, we knew it was coming:

"UL AD Jurich tells Big East they want out"

http://www.cardchronicle.com/2012/5/...st-we-want-out

This could be disastrous for the Big East

Dude, you need to chill. Boise is having some trouble finding a home for their olympic sports, so the rumors have gotten out that they are reconsidering. Oh and the Big 12 just signed a new deal, and did research on additions like Louisville and Cincinnati and decided it wasn't profitable enough to pull the trigger. The Big East is going to fine.

Not worried about Boise commitment. Where are they going? MWC and take a major paycut plus take a 5 million dollar pay out?

Just concerned about UC's future. Apparently no one wants to be in this league anymore(football wise) minus Memphis/UCF/Temple.

Everyone is exploring other options or wanting to get out it seems like

I have learned it is absolutlely pointless to worry about stuff you have no control over. This stuff, in addition to recruiting, falls into that category. I have never felt better about UC leadership than I do today with President Williams and AD Babcock in charge of things. The Big East are also in better hands with President Williams in charge of finding the replacement Commissioner. So I'd just say relax and let it play out.
