Our coach is from the mid majors- check
4 key rotation players are from mid majors- check 3 losses to mid major programs- check Zero national exposure the rest of the year- check We play in a 2-3 bid at best league this year- check We have to win the conference tourney to make the tourney- check Y’all wanna guess how many times we get lost on ESPN+ next year? They already excluded us from the CBS game this year for what I believe to be the first time. Right now Memphis, Houston, & WSU are in better positions in the league. Like we could fall right off the face of the earth. |

What was our record for the first 3 years after our last coaching change? Why on earth is this any different? Cronin has about the same history as brannen. 2 leaugue championships in a crappy league before coming here. |

Bummer about this season, but they just aren’t very good.
We have a new coach with players who have been injured and aren’t a fit for his system. Mick rarely landed shooters; Brannen’s offense relies on them. Mick ran a zone; now we’re running man to man and pressing. There were bound to be growing pains. That said, it’s also true that’s Brannen has publicly stated he sticks with his system. In one of his after-game press conferences, he blatantly said “there were no adjustments made except an attitude adjustment.” I always felt like Mick refused to make adjustments, and it seems Brannen is the same. It’s frustrating. Say what you want about him, but Huggins busted out a 1-3-1 against Kentucky just for the tournament and it worked against a super stacked team - does anyone think Brannen would do something like that? I think part of this team’s struggle is learning the system that’s not built for them and some of it is Brannen’s stubbornness...but I digress. I hope the results change, but I don’t expect much. |

This team lacks chemistry and cohesion. We lack discipline as well. I think the talent is there but it's hard to get a team with a bunch of new players playing like they have known each other for years.
Next year will be another bunch of new guys and then maybe the year after we can see a team that can build that chemistry we need. Brannen seems to start out with a good game plan each game but fails to understand the other team will make adjustments at half. He has to do a better job of mixing it up to keep the defense on their toes. |
