WVU pregame and predictions

A big storyline for the game is if Casey Mitchell will play for WVU. Honestly, I think we are better regardless but it still would help.

WVU is 19 in the RPI. That would be a nice boost to our resume. Would also start to separate us from the middle of the pack Big East teams.

The game has sold out. 13,176 need to be behind this team.

This is a game for Dions revenge. We were the better team in the tournament last year. We owe them one.

I say UC 65 and WVU 56 with the current information.

I'm not predicting a score but I am predicting a blow out. UC comes out motivated and will win going away. No disrespect to WVU but I just have that feeling.

I hope you are right. UC really has not played well in a long time so hopefully it starts to click beginning with the WVU game.

I thought they played very well the last 15 minutes of the game last night. They shot nearly 47% against a pretty good defensive team and 73% from the foul line. Had 16 assists and outrebound Rutgers by 10. That's not a bad night. They also shot 16 more free throws than the Scarlet Knights. The first half D sucked but the last half they held them to 40.9% shooting and 0-4 from the 3. The second half was something to build on.

sure they played good for about 15 minutes. Unfortunately the game is 40 minutes. The other minutes when they aren't playing well will doom them against good teams. It killed them against SU, Villanova, and ND. They played a terrible first 8 minutes against XU (scored only 2 points) but luckily XU was bad enough that UC could over come it. Same with SJU and Rutgers. I don't think they are going to get away with it against good teams.

I want to see Mick throw everything at WVU on Saturday. Full-court traps, pressure defense, challenging every shot and rebound.........

Realistic score: UC-78, WVU-71

However, I want a blowout, so I'll toss this one out there: UC-86, WVU-62

If WVU scores 71 on Saturday that means our defense stayed home. If UC gives up 71 Saturday with Mitchell out I will be very disappointed. Hell I'd be disappointed if they gave up 71 with him.
