Mike Saunders returned to action 3 games ago for McNeese St (after getting hurt in a car accident) and was involved in a crazy end-of-game sequence last night against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
TAMCC led by 1 at halftime then started the 2nd half on a 17-0 run that went until the 13:11 mark. McNeese would storm back to tie the game with 3:18 remaining. McNeese was down 60-59 with 9 seconds left before missing both shots from a two-shot foul. TAMCC would make 1 of 2 of their free throws after getting fouled with 7 seconds left and then bewilderingly intentionally fouled Mike Saunders while up 61-59 with 4 seconds left. Saunders made his first free throw then missed the second to leave McNeese down 61-60. After a mad scramble for the ball, McNeese would miss their first game-winning lay-up attempt before another player flew in to tip in the miss as time expired for the win. McNeese St has now won 12 games in a row. |

I saw that highlight at some point, but didn't remember Saunders was there. I thought Utah. Looks like those guys are going to have a good run this year.
He scored 20 points of the bench against UIW. Last edited by sirthought; 01-23-2024 at 12:39 PM. |

David DeJulius recently transferred from Lavrio of the Greek first division to Gottingen of the German first division.
The move has seemingly paid off so far as Gottingen have won 3 games in a row, which has elevated them above the league's relegation places for the time being (the league's bottom two finishers are relegated to the second division at season's end). DeJulius came off the bench to score 26 points with 7 assists and 4 rebounds in an emphatic overtime victory over the weekend. |
