Lol I have never moderated a thing on this site. I also didn’t ask to be a mod. So I dunno what that has to do with any thing. I’m just a regular user on this site that’s it. They can remove the tag any time they want |

Guess the Senior Moderator title confuses things, but it should have known that was the case. Moderators usually oversee a message board and make sure things don’t go off the rails, not set needless and foolish fires.

If Cumberland returns I would still have pretty high hopes. It still takes time to gel under a new coach so I am not sure what the ceiling or floor would be. If he returns and we add a couple of 2019 eligible transfers...we might not have to skip a beat. But again...everyone would be first year in a new system under a new coach. Even if we returned a full roster that would still be the case. I would still have to temper expectations while remaining cautiously optimistic.
If he doesn't return then we just need to build the solid core depth in 2019 and score big in that 2020 class. Not skipping a beat under a new coach can be done...but I don't think it's an easy thing to do. I have been satisfied with the process. We have backed away from a few players already which tells me we are not in desperation mode as a staff (and we have a lot of spots to fill). Some of the names still on the board for offers or visits is pretty good for 2019 late in the game. Hoping for a big news week!! We seem to be doing our due diligence and not in panic mode (yet...lol). |

Justin Williams' article for the athletic today makes it pretty clear Mick was leaving. He definitely wasn't forced out here, UC was negotiating and matching most of his demands (wanted to negotiate the buy out amount Mick wanted 2.5, 2.0, 1.5, 1.0, 1.0 and UC wanted 3.5, 3.0, 2.0, 1.0, 1.0 then Bohn wanted to commit to the 5th year only if UC made 1 sweet 16 in the next 4 years).
This talk of UC not trying to work with Mick was complete and total BS. It was made up trash. The public record request showed the emails and UC was willing to pay Mick 3.0 million a year if he made a sweet 16. |
