He took Vogt out and played tried to beat Tulane out their own game. This did not work and was the turning point in the game. Was there other reasons we lost, yes. A lot of them. Turnovers and rebounding and shot making. I never blame everything on the coach or the players. It's always a combination of both. Having said that, We can't lose to Tulane (colgate at home). We can't lose these games. At some point, the coach has to be accountable for some of that.

Again...nobody mentioned desperation 3s or a hot shooter etc...even the FTs. Once again there are bigger issues

Lol they moved the 3 point basket back and teams are shooting a lower percentage. Let’s play zone.

Of course we won’t tho
If rebounding is an issue, zone wouldn't help but it's worth a shot at this point I guess.

Tulane shot what? 50% 3 pointers. Zone would not be the answer

McNeal is useless, If Jaevin isn’t hitting shots he is useless, liability on defense.. Jarron turned it on for about 10 minutes... Keith was great in the first half and then horrifying in the second half, Tre Scott was Tre Scott, Chris Vogt couldn’t defend the Asian kid who was nailing 3’s, JB should have made an adjustment, Diarra played a great game IMO, he deserves more minutes, Davenport played well when in, give him McNeals minutes

Other things, our rebounding is terrible. Houston is the same size as us, if not smaller and they go after everything. That could be on the coach also.

Also, can anyone make a shot?
Pulling Vogt to the perimeter took him out of the rebounding equation. Jaevin is a terrible rebounder. You can only ask the other 3 guys to do so much.

Agreed! If you are going to take out one of your best players because a non shooter is bombing 30 footers. I would suggest against it. I would probably let Jaevin take those bombs most nights.

Beyond that we played stupid basketball. Turnovers and shot selection. We were out hustled. Our in boun play calls or off timeouts were generally trash.

This was one of CJBs worst coached games and I am fully on board his train

Their center was 5-5, the rest of their team only shot 30%. Playing a zone would have defended their center than having Vogt on him did.

How many games are you guys going to watch the other teams center bomb threes before you admit it's not just one guy getting lucky? It's not the first (or second, or third) game Vogt couldn't defend the other teams center on the perimeter and it won't be the last (unless/until Brannen changes the defensive scheme up to protect Vogt).

If you look at the numbers, we should have won.

Out rebounded them by 7. Seemed like every offensive board they had, they scored though.

18 assists to 8.

12 offensive boards to 9.

44% from the field to 41%

17 TURNOVERS to 10

7-27 from 3 for us (25%) to 8-15 (53%)

Came down to turnovers and 3s. Had plenty of open looks.
