Another nice grab out of NEO. I like the fact this kid jumped on the offer once it was given. He is listed as a 2-star over on Scout, but it would not be the first time they were a little off on their evaluation (they had Coyne as a 3 star up until a month ago).

He is #54 on Scouting Ohio Top Recruits for 2011.

Rivals 3 star. ESPN unevaluated. JJ huddle lists stats as "All-Ohio performer logged 107 tackles, six sacks and two blocked punts as a junior."

Great find! This is the first I have heard of him. If I get time tonight I will put together an official thread in the recruiting section for him.

Well, we definitely need DE prospects. I'm sure the staff saw something they liked in him. Still, I wonder if this means that our other prospects aren't looking too good as this point. I can't believe I've never heard of this kid before. Looks like he has a nice big frame.

This is going to be a small UC class and there are needs at this position, LB, RB and the staff has made it clear they will take another WR and possibly an OL. Maybe by adding West the staff has intentionally put the heat on another guy who has been wavering to get off the pot. I would think at this point if I am one of the other DE recruits and I want to come to UC, now is the time to pull the trigger and verbal.

Here are the other offers we have out to DEs who are not yet committed. Some of these guys we don't have a shot at but hopefully we'd have a shot with guys like Austin Traylor or Deonte Gibson.
