Reportedly offered by UC. Look for Kentucky to grab him at this point. Took an unofficial visit to ND for the USC game, and ND could be a player if they offer. Lousiville, with their new coach fresh from Florida, could be in the mix as well. Question is can UC make him interested??

Charlie Strong will definetly make an impact at Louisville with recruiting. He is someone who is a very good recruiter and if he has any success as a HC watch out.

Kentucky is in the lead at this early stage. Interesting to see if he receives any other offers. Of course, recruits jump ship all the time.
KY has offered. |

This past season as a junior, Lamar racked up 176 tackles, 23 TFLs, intercepted 2 passes, and recovered 3 fumbles at linebacker. On offense, in an H-back type role, he hauled in 21 passes for 376 yards with 4 touchdowns and carried the ball 43 times for 329 yards and 2 more scores.
He currently holds offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Cincinnati, Purdue, Texas Tech, and Stanford. Lamar grew up a fan of the Kentucky Wildcats and says, “Coach Smith and all the coaches at UK are recruiting me pretty hard.” So does that mean UK is the leader? “Not really, I’m just keeping my options open.” As of right now, he isn’t looking for any one particular thing in a school, but does say he wants to play in a strong conference at a school with a good fan base. http://www.tharinger.com/2010%20stat...ngs/Dawson.htm |

Lamar could play a number of positions at the next level, but projects best at MLB. He already has the size for the position, and his tremendous instincts and overall feel for the game just scream “defensive leader.” He is a very aggressive and physical player with explosive power. He displays very good technique, constantly keeping his shoulders square to the line of scrimmage, and wrapping up when tackling. Fights through would-be blockers and always seems to take perfect angles in pursuit. However, perhaps his best attribute is his instincts: Lamar reads and reacts to what he sees instantly whether it be run or pass and almost always seems to make the play, as his stats would suggest.

Lamar Dawson (Boyle County, KY) informed me last night he plans to visit Louisville, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Western Kentucky for spring football practice. Dawson is one of UK's top in-state recruiting targets for 2011.
