'15 IN SG K.J. Walton
Thought we had a thread on Walton, but I guess all of the talk on him may have been in the general thread.

Good info, thanks. I can't believe there wasn't a thread on him already. Looks like he has a big frame. Would be a very solid spring pickup.

Nasty Nati 513 wrote me asking about a guard to watch out for about a week ago and I highlighted Walton. Hes not exactly the type of shooter we need but is quite the slasher and finisher. Also shoots a high percentage from the foul line. Would be nice a pickup if we can't find a pure shooter from the perimeter.

We have one open scholarship with Morman and two if he leaves... correct? I wonder if we would take him either way. I would rather have a big man, but I would also rather take a 4-star guard than a project.

He's not the defender Mormon was coming in from HS ball. And Robert both Mick and LD have both said they want to bring in 2 guys in spring. Problem with Walton is his jumpshot doesn't look like he can develop a consistent 3 ball.

He'll have hard time scoring against the better teams. Don't see one special skill he has. If he was in city I'll use scholarship on him but he's not so we need to pass.

You need guys who can get to the rim and finish. In absence of shooters you need scorers who can get to the line and hit foul shots. I think it would be solid pick up but not the one I'd prefer but not because I think he's a bad player, I think he'll be a solid D1 player. But because we need guys that can shoot but if UC can't land one refer back to my second sentence.

Sounds like an Antoine Mason kind of player. Definitely worth a scholarship imo IF we end up adding someone else too (no Morman).
