Almost all of those decisions will be made prior to the Houston game. They will probably either have us as a 6 or a 7 before that game. I don't really think WSU helps us all that much so hopefully we are already at a 6...but maybe that WSU game could be a deciding factor to move us there.

I was really sorry to see BG go down to Buffalo. Great game, the Bulls did not pull away till the last few minutes and BG led for a good portion of the second half. They had a nice team and it would have been their first NCAA in 50 years. MAC championship looked good in Quiken and Buffalo is loaded with Ohio players from the Cleveland area of course. My son is a Falcon so had a dog in the fight.

Just a my thoughts. As we embark on selection Sunday and probably headed for 7 seed and playing for conference championship, this team has definitely overachieved. Yea this team has a lot of faults, but in many cases I have been pleasantly surprised. This is a fun team with a bunch great kids that have represented the program and University very well. This season has already been a success in my eyes. Kudos to them and the coaching staff.

This years team making the NCAA tournament was what I said would be a success at the beginning of the season and I still think that.
Next year, I have much higher expectations and a much higher definition of success. We will be a veteran team that lost very few players. Every other top team in the American will have bigger loses from graduation then we do. Success next year is winning the conference, finishing top 10 in the NCAA and being a top 3 seed in the NCAA tournament. If we aren't extremely good next year I will be disappointed*. *This assumes Cumberland does not go pro. |

Selection Sunday bracketology per Dave Ommen (Q1,Q2,Q3/4 losses)
6 Auburn (4-7,12-2,0) 6 Miss St (8-7,4-3,0) 6 Maryland (6-8,6-1,1) 6 Cincinnati (4-4,8-1,1) 7 Buffalo (2-1,5-1,1) 7 Wofford (3-4,6-0,0) 7 Nevada (1-1,7-1,2) 7 Louisville (4-11,5-1,1) Still clinging to a 6 seed. On bracketmatrix we're a 7, with Buffalo taking our spot. We look about even with Maryland, so we could take their spot. I still think Wofford has a 6 seed resume. We're basically locked into the 6-7 range. Keep in mind that teams can be seeded different from where they fall in the seed list based on bracket rules. So there is still a small chance we could be a 5 or 8. Last edited by sedziobs; 03-17-2019 at 10:21 AM. |
